the later versions of Photoshop (CS5 and CS6, not sure about CS4) have a canvas rotation feature.

@03:53Just wondering what you did at around the 3:50 mark, did you add a layer of grey over everything and then erase parts to let the colors through?

I'm fairly new to coloring, and I've been trying to find some techniques.
